为了传承和发扬中国书法的历史文化，进一步引起学生对书写的高度重视，培养学生正确的书写习惯，引导学生把汉字写得正确、端正、整洁、美观，让学生从小练就一手好字，受益终生，我们举办了一次小学硬笔书法比赛。

In English, "calligraphy" literally means "beautiful writing." It is one of the Chinese traditional arts and a written form that unites the languages spoken in China. Learning calligraphy can help children calm down and develop persistence which can be very helpful in boosting their learning ability. For these reasons, we held a Primary Chinese Calligraphy Competition.
